Town gardens and tight access

Many Cirencester gardens are enclosed by terraces, walls and neighbours, with no room to drop a tree whole. In that case a tree comes down in sections, lowered piece by piece, with the branches chipped on site and the ground left clear.

We also work in the villages around the town, including Siddington, Stratton, Preston and Kemble.

Trees and the council in Cirencester

Cirencester is covered by Cotswold District Council. A tree with a Tree Preservation Order needs the council's written consent before it is cut down, topped or lopped, and a tree in a conservation area needs six weeks' written notice first. The historic centre of the town is a conservation area, so notice is often needed even for trees that do not have an order on them.

You can ask the council's planning team whether a tree is protected before any work starts, and we are happy to talk you through it when we come to look.
